Summer Day #31 and #32; Wind in the weeds

Blah!  The wind is picking up and it's just going to get worse.  It would be nice if it brought a little rain, but no.  It'll bring triple digit temperatures. Yuck.

Although Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, yesterday was not one of those Sundays.  I managed to get through my Relief Society lesson okay without too many ladies zoning out.

After church in the evening was a District Cub Scout Roundtable staff meeting.  Phew, that's a mouthful.  As roundtable staff, we try to find ideas for crafts, field trips, service projects, songs, cheers - all so den leaders can come and pick our brains.  We're there to help.  Yes, the internet is a wonderful resource for finding those ideas, but sometimes it's better to ask a real person who has done it before.  We also try to answer questions about BSA rules and Council policies - the aim is to keep everybody safe while the Cubs are having fun.  It's just as important to keep the den leaders safe too.  No injuries or heart attacks please!

Today I'm getting my window fixed.  I was not being too vigilant when I was mowing the weeds one day - the ground slopes down outside my east window - and apparently the mower threw a rock and punched a hole in one of the top corners of the window.  It's double paned and the rock only penetrated the outside glass and not the inside glass.  The husband has taken it to the shop to have new glass put in.  So that leaves us with just a screen and a lot of wind outside.  No AC for now.  Hopefully the window will be back in soon.

Hope you're not getting sandblasted where you are today!

YES the wind is kicking up EVERY DAY!
We don't have the money to have someone go through the walnut tree and clean out the dead wood so every time a wind storm comes up, DOWN come the old dead limbs and last years nuts. Don't know what I'd do without natures pruning tools!
