Say What? You've heard this before...

Overheard in the next room:

(The ice disenser in the fridge door is going.)
6 year old son: "What are you doing?"

11 year old son: "I'm doing an experiment."

Me: (unable to see what's going on) "It better not involve a mess!"

11 year old son: "It doesn't."

(More ice rattling and water running.)

11 year old son: "Success!"

Okay, guess what he was doing.

He filled one part of the kitchen sink with ice and cold water. He put hot water in a 2 liter bottle. He dumped out the hot water, put on the cap and submersed the bottle in cold water. The bottle collapsed on itself.

HEY that's an experiment I saw a professor at the U do one time in physics class. Did he speak to the same professor? LOL

Did Ben explain what he did?

Yes, he told me what he'd done after I got off the computer to see what it was that had happened.
