Taking off for the holiday

We are going south a few hours' drive to meet up with family. We haven't been to the homestead for Christmas for a few years. While not everybody will make it this year, we'll see most of them. The kids are excited to see BOTH sets of grandparents in the same trip. And aunts and uncles. And cousins. And Grandmother's dog.

I get teary eyed thinking about it, so I'll stop thinking about that and think about finishing the wrapping I need to do and the kid that just came down with diarrhea.

Merry Christmas!

Have fun with the rest of the family! After all, that is one of the MOST important aspects of Christmas, the gathering of your family.

Merry Christmas, Robyn. Have a safe and wonderful trip.

This year will be the first year we will be just be the two of us. Heather, Jake and family came for Thanksgiving but won't be here for Christmas. Ryan and Stephanie were here on Sunday for "Christmas" and will be taking a vacation/anniversary trip over Christmas as their anniversary is on the 29th.

You're so lucky to have extended family not far from you! I always thought my kids would grow up with some of their cousins like I did but the job keeps us away. We're on the East coast, and my brothers and sister are on the West. Thank heavens for FB, e-mail, cell phones, etc!
Have a great trip!
Love your blog.
