Brrr. Even the Road Looks Chilled

Yeah, we live on the main drag in a small town. This was a morning where the temps were below freezing. We just broke through 20 today! Lovely when 20 feels like spring. And I make my kids walk/bike in that to school! Aren't I such a mean mommy? ("Fiddlesticks", my grandpa would say, rest his soul, "Builds character!")

If it doesn't build character, it should at least build survival skills. Layer, layer, and layer again!

Your grandpa's right. Now you don't have to do the "When I was your age ..." stories because your kids will build there own character and that is really lacking now a days. Burrr indeed.

How can they ride their bikes on ice? NO sidewalks either.
Carpool anyone?

Did walk to school up hill, both ways...hahaha. I hated waiting for the bus with my kids. Brrr. Don't miss that.

I remember walking to school in a snowstorm, and a lightning bolt struck overhead. It was my first time experiencing thunder show.

Wait a minute!!! Was that my mother who said Carpool anyone? WE HAD to walk in snow and ice to school and back! We also had to do our newspaper route in that crap. Ya know, no one got me up in the morning for school. We took care of ourselves. If we wanted a ride we could probably catch one with our dad if he wasn't too early or too late for us. LOL! I always hoped that someone in the ward would drive by, pick me up, and cuss out my parents.
