Are there less gangs up there? Glad I don't have to make the decision. Work is work wherever you go.
I think people who live in Alaska get a cash bonus check thing from the government, so that would be cool. What wouldn't be cool is that in the summer it's light all the time and in the winter it's dark all the time. That would take some adjusting. But, on the whole, I'd live there for 6 months to 1 yr, just for kicks. Good luck on your decision & stuff.PS: found you on Mormon Mommy blogs! ;)
Do a lot of research, quick; that is a hard one. Make a decision and then pray about it. I will be praying for you also.
Yep, it's up to you. Still in the US actually. The Saudi Arabia thing was a bit of a stretch for me, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
It looks like a decent sized city. So it should have all the things you want and need available. It would be a fun adventure. The only real downer is the length of the winter.
I have to say it takes guts. And a really warm pair of boots in the winter, blackout shades in the summer and no they really don't have a lot of the conveniences, but they do have a wal-mart! Check out the Chamber of commerce web page to see more. I did that on our move to anchorage, and we would practically be neighbors!
Don't do it! It is cold!
